GEM Apartment

GEM Apartment is a 3-star aparthotel in Thao Dien, 7.2 km from the centre of Ho Chi Minh City, where every unit has a private bathroom, air conditioning and its own kitchen. The apartments range from 28 to 72 m², and several have a separate living room, which suits couples, small groups and families who want more space than a standard hotel room.

Every unit has a terrace, and the Family Suite also has a balcony. Guests can cook in the kitchens, which include a stovetop, refrigerator, microwave and kitchenware, and free WiFi covers the whole property. Outside, the grounds have a garden, a sun terrace, a hot tub, a bar and an outdoor seating area, and a fitness centre is also on site.

Guests say the rooms are clean and spacious, the staff and host are friendly and attentive, and the neighbourhood is quiet yet close to transport and shops. Soundproofing and air conditioning are fitted in the apartments.

GEM Apartment offers four apartment types, and each has its own kitchen, a private bathroom and air conditioning. The Deluxe Apartment, at 28 m², is the smallest, with one separate bedroom and a single extra-large double bed. The Premier Apartment, at 45 m², adds a sofa bed in the living room, a washing machine and a coffee machine. The King Suite - Non-Smoking, at 48 m², is similar to the Premier but has a minibar and a children's high chair in place of the coffee machine.

The Family Suite with Balcony is the largest unit at 72 m² and sleeps up to four guests, with two king-size beds or a sofa bed as the alternative layout. The views also vary: the Deluxe looks over the lake, landmark and city, while the three larger units add garden and river views.

The property offers a garden, a sun terrace, a hot tub, a picnic area and outdoor furniture, along with a bar, room service and a fitness centre. The front desk is staffed around the clock, and daily housekeeping, laundry, luggage storage and key card access are available. Upper floors can be reached by lift.

Parking is free and private on site, with valet service also offered, but reservation is needed. Breakfast can be served in the room, though it is not included in the room rate.

Inside the apartments you find a flat-screen TV with cable and satellite channels, pay-per-view and a radio, plus a bidet, bath or shower, hairdryer and free toiletries. The kitchens are equipped with a stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, electric kettle and tumble dryer, and soundproofing and air conditioning are included in the units.

GEM Apartment stands on a residential street in Thao Dien, a neighbourhood popular with foreign residents, about 7.2 km from the city centre. Guests say the neighbourhood is quiet, while shops and transport remain close at hand. The surrounding streets mix houses, small shops and cafés. Within a short walk you find Vins Pinoy Cafe, 100 m away, The Fan Club, 500 m away, and Quán Kitchen Seoul, 650 m away. St. Michael the Archangel Church is 350 m from the property.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport is 8.2 km away and Saigon Railway Station 8.6 km, so the apartments suit travellers arriving by air or rail. Rach Chiec train station is much closer, at 400 m, and the Bến Thảo Điền ferry terminal, 2.8 km away, serves guests who want to cross the river. Its residential setting is calmer than the busy streets of the centre, which lie further away.

Green spaces and play areas are close: Công Viên Thảo Điền park is 1.3 km away, and Vista Kids Playground, 450 m away, is convenient for families with young children.
